Next steps

Following the building condition survey report being issued to owners and residents on 25 June 2025, we are now in a period of reflection and consideration.

The next step will be for all owners, including the Council, to come together and discuss how they would like to proceed. Since we are at such an early stage, all owners must collectively consider all options, estimated costs and begin to make decisions on how to progress. The first action for owners will be to decide who will facilitate this conversation.

How owners in the block proceed is governed by the Tenement Management Scheme (TMS) rules. This is a process set down in law in the Tenements (Scotland) Act 2004 to helps protect owners who are doing common repairs. . The rules set out steps owners need to take when making decisions about carrying out common repairs. Each flat owner, including the Council as an owner, must vote for or against the scope of works. If the majority vote in favour of the work going ahead this results in what is called a Scheme Decision.
