Improving public spaces and planting

We plan to improve public spaces and planting at

  • the priority junction of Smokey Brae, Restalrig Avenue and Marionville Avenue
  • the junction of Marionville Avenue at Marionville Drive.

These proposals have been designed sensitively and in keeping with the local area.

Proposals include

  • seating
  • planting
  • trees
  • interpretation boards

Stirling example

While developing these proposals we looked at what other cities are doing, such as .

Stirling have recently delivered a similar design where a roundabout was removed (at the junction of Albert Place, Queen’s Road and Dumbarton Road) and replaced with a priority junction. The images below show areas of new pavement, cycle tracks and planting that were reallocated from under used road space.
